Local event benefits the Freedom Service Dogs of America

May. 27, 2013 / Stagecoach Saloon / Franktown, Colo.

Memorial Day was really something special at the Stagecoach Saloon in Franktown, Colorado, a Harley rider’s dream, and a place where patriotic and genuine people come together to enjoy life (while looking really bad-ass on bikes).

This special event was held to honor our troops, remember those lost, and benefit the Freedom Service Dogs of America, a non-profit organization matching disabled individuals with trained service dogs.

Nearly 200 people attended the event featuring live music, a silent auction and official salute. Many veterans were there in full uniform. One of the organizers, Julie Schrock, is the author of Missing Max, a moving true story about her son and his dog who were killed in Afghanistan.

The event was a great success for servicemen and women, their families and everyone who has been touched by what they have given to our country. View the official salute and more in this touching video from the event.
